With the peak rental season coming to an end, rent prices dwindled in the past month, displaying the slowest rise since February, 0.1% ($2). Rates rose slower than they did in August last year, exhibiting a shy monthly uptick commonly seen during the sluggish Autumn-Winter season.<\/p>\n<h3>Renting in Indiana in August 2019<\/h3>\n<p>The average rent in Indiana cities is <strong> lower than the national average rent<\/strong>. The fastest growing rents in August were in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/granger-in\/\">Granger<\/a>, where rental apartment\u00a0prices increased by 11.1% year-over-year, or $130. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/speedway-in\/\">Speedway<\/a> apartments\u00a0saw the second highest annual increase, shooting up by 8.5% ($6), while the slowest rising rents were in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/muncie-in\/\">Muncie<\/a>, where prices dropped by 0.7% ($6) compared to August last year.<\/p>\n<p><script id=\"infogram_0_2bf55945-c091-4e56-a177-fa206d7d6ded\" title=\"Indiana - RentReport August\" src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?1oZ\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><strong>Granger <\/strong>apartments\u00a0are the state&#8217;s most expensive for renters, with an average rent of $1,306, followed by apartments in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/zionsville-in\/\">Zionsville<\/a>, where the average monthly rent is $1,226.
