Overall, renters had to pay $48 more than they did at the same time last year, according to the latest rent survey from Yardi Matrix. However, July also displayed the slowest month-over-month increase since February, which at 0.2% is a clear signal that peak rental season is nearing its end. The trend is in line with last year\u2019s data \u2013 once the busy late spring to early summer period winds down, rents are expected to slow their growth throughout the rest of the year.<\/p>\n<h3>Renting in Minnesota in July 2019<\/h3>\n<p>The average rent in Minnesota cities is <strong>generally lower than the national average rent<\/strong>. The fastest growing rents in July were in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/coon-rapids-mn\/\">Coon Rapids<\/a>, where rental apartment\u00a0prices increased by 1% month over month, $11 more compared to June. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/eden-prairie-mn\/\">Eden Prairie<\/a> saw the second-highest monthly increase, jumping by 0.9% ($14 more expensive than last month), while the rents dropped in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/roseville-mn\/\">Roseville<\/a> by 0.7% ($8) compared to June.<\/p>\n<p><script id=\"infogram_0_1bb72067-e77c-4918-ac15-8c1a944108e1\" title=\"Minnesota - RentReport July\" src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?Fz7\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/golden-valley-mn\/\">Golden Valley apartments<\/a> are the state&#8217;s most expensive for renters, with an average rent of $1,748, followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/edina-mn\/\">apartments in Edina<\/a>, where the average monthly rent is $1,688.
