Straddling the Mississippi and Minnesota rivers, the Twin Cities of Minneapolis – largest city in Minnesota – and Saint Paul\u2014the state capital – make up the second-largest economic center in the Midwest. While Minneapolis and Saint Paul are perhaps the most well-known example of the phenomenon of “twin cities,” they are actually remarkably distinct from one-another in a lot of ways, allowing for residents to experience the best that both cities have to offer. As the slightly younger of the two, Minneapolis was once called the “Mill City,” a heritage that can still be seen at the Mill City Museum<\/a>, built in what was once the largest flour mill in the world, overlooking the Saint Anthony Falls. As such, Minneapolis boasts more modern skyscrapers, while its slightly-older sibling Saint Paul has been compared to a European city, complete with distinctive neighborhoods and well-preserved late-Victorian architecture.<\/p>\n

Today, both cities are growing and offering new and exciting opportunities for residents throughout the region.
