Beverly Grove<\/a> is a mid-Los Angeles neighborhood with houses, condos and a growing number of mansions. While it used to be an older, quieter neighborhood, the lovely Beverly Grove has undergone rapid change in the last decade and continues to add new condos and apartments at a dizzying pace.<\/p>\n

Whether you’re a Target or Tiffany’s regular, here you’ll find both and more, not to mention the high number of entertainment spots such as restaurants, bars or clubs.<\/p>\n

Where is Beverly Grove?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Beverly Grove is on the west side of an area generally referred to as Mid-City<\/a>. It\u2019s tucked in between Beverly Hills<\/a> and West Hollywood<\/a>, with Fairfax<\/a> on its eastern border. The Beverly Center shopping center is in the north and Farmer\u2019s Market and The Grove – a newer, popular outdoor mall – is just outside its jurisdiction.<\/p>\n

History<\/h3>\n

The neighborhood sprouted up in the 1920s, the latter part of its name mostly referring to the orchards that used to thrive here when the city was still young. The original Los Angeles Farmer\u2019s Market on 3rd and Fairfax opened in 1934 and sold local produce from area farmers (now it\u2019s a popular brunch spot).<\/p>\n

Sadly, the orchards are all gone and the quaint homes with big lawns are also dwindling. There\u2019s not much public park space or greenery, aside from the tree-lined streets.<\/p>\n

Then again, the 28-acre Pan Pacific Park is a mere 30 minutes\u2019 walk away (or a 6-min drive), in nearby Fairfax<\/a>. So is the much-hyped The Grove with its endless array of indoor and outdoor entertainment opportunities \u2013 plus it\u2019s always a popular place for a stroll. Fun fact: The Grove has 18 million visitors a year, more than Disneyland.<\/div>\n

Lifestyle<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On the upside, because of its location, there is a lot of shopping and dining to do, much of which is actually within walking distance.<\/p>\n

What to Do<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Beverly Center<\/a> was once at the forefront of design and entertainment, being the first mall to host a 14-screen movie theater. Today, though a bit architecturally dated, it is home to major retailers and top brands including Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Gucci, Fendi, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace Collection and more.<\/p>\n

Another great shopping spot is The Grove<\/a> that also offers some pretty good dining options. It’s popular for its diversity when it comes to food, so if you’re feeling in the mood for Italian, French or Asian cuisine, you’re sure to find it all here.<\/p>\n
