In the Northeast, cities like Boston and Manhattan, NY,\u00a0stand out for <strong>quality of life<\/strong>, ranking 14th and third in that category, respectively.\u00a0<\/p> <\/div> <\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Methodology<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Best Cities for Renters ranking was compiled by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RentCafe.com<\/a>, a nationwide apartment search website that enables renters to easily find apartments and houses for rent throughout the United States.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>We only considered \u201csuitable candidates for best cities for renters\u201d as those cities with an apartment stock of at least 10,000 apartment units. Cities with lower apartment stocks were excluded. A total of 150 cities were the final candidates for the ranking.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>To determine the best cities for renters, the RentCafe.com analytics team used a composite index to compare cities across three main categories \u2014&nbsp;<strong>cost of living and housing;<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>local economy;<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>quality of life<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The three main categories were compiled from 20 relevant metrics.
