Where is Foxcroft?<\/h3>\n

Foxcroft is on the southern side of the city adjacent to the SouthPark area, with Providence Road running down the eastern side of the neighborhood. Sharon road and Fairview run along the other sides of this wedge of a neighborhood.<\/p>\n

Access to 485 is easy to come by, and Foxcroft is roughly 15 minutes away from Uptown with a straight shot up Providence road. You can also hop in Woodlawn for a 20-minute drive to the airport.<\/p>\n

History<\/h3>\n

Dating back to the mid-20th century, the Foxcroft neighborhood is full of some truly majestic homes in French Provincial and classic Georgian styles. The large lots shaded with crepe myrtles, old oaks and many other sprawling trees make Foxcroft look like a pocket of fairytale wonderland inside Charlotte.<\/p>\n

As the neighborhood originated decades ago, many of these stately homes have undergone renovations \u2014 some of them more dramatic than others. But even with the new additions, Foxcroft has not lost any of its classic charm.<\/p>\n

Lifestyle<\/h3>\n

With its larger than average lot sizes, greenery and proximity to the SouthPark shopping mecca, Foxcroft has been a sought after Charlotte neighborhood for some decades now.<\/p>\n

What to do<\/strong><\/p>\n

There isn\u2019t too much in the way of shopping within the actual boundaries of the Foxcroft neighborhood, but its proximity to SouthPark Mall makes getting your retail fix easy. SouthPark is Charlotte\u2019s (and maybe even the entire state\u2019s!) premier shopping destination. There are more than 175 stores within the mall grounds, and many of them are specialty or designer names. SouthPark Mall is very spacious which makes popping in and out of Coach, Neiman Marcus, Apple and Lush a breeze.<\/p>\n

The other go-to option for shopping in Foxcroft is Phillips Place. Located near the southern end of the neighborhood, this is an open-air retail experience. Since 1997, Phillips Place has been offering rooftop dining, valet service and a luxurious retail experience.<\/p>\n

Although there aren’t that many parks in the Foxcroft neighborhood, the sprawling yards make up for that a bit. Plus, many people get their outdoor fix at the Foxcroft Swin & Racquet Club. This members-only club offers a crystal clear pool, tennis courts and places to host a variety of events.<\/p>\n

Where to Eat & Drink<\/strong><\/p>\n

When it comes to good eats, Foxcroft neighborhood knows what it\u2019s about! Both the surrounds of SouthPark Mall and Phillips Place are brimming with dining options. Palm Restaurant is a legendary eatery that has been grilling up steak and seafood for decades. Those looking for that Gulf coast flavor will want to stop in Southern Pecan for shrimp, gumbo and more.<\/p>\n

Over by the mall, dining options range from food court to upscale. Whether you are looking for tea service at the American Girl Bistro or Spanish Tapas at Bulla Gastrobar, you won\u2019t be disappointed! The Cheesecake Factory is also a favorite spot in this area.<\/p>\n

Those looking for adult beverages can enjoy some vino at Reid\u2019s Fine Foods & Wine Bar which offers glorious outdoor seating. Another nearby option is Rusty Bucket Restaurant and Tavern which offers handcrafted cocktails, a large draft beer menu and quite the wine selection. The Rusty Bucket usually has some sort of drink special going on!<\/p>\n

Rates for Foxcroft apartments for rent<\/a> are generally above the city average with a month\u2019s rent around $1,540. While higher than average, it is still cheaper to live in the Foxcroft area instead of Uptown, for example.<\/p>\n

A similar upscale area of the city is Ballantyne which is slightly cheaper than Foxcroft with monthly rental prices running closer to $1,400. The quality of apartment homes in these two neighborhoods is similar in amenities, but Foxcroft has the advantage of being slightly closer to city center.<\/p>\n

Transportation<\/h3>\n

Ask any resident and they will tell you that Foxcroft is a walkable neighborhood with special attention given to preserving green spaces and the installation of benches and fountains. Many people can also be found biking the streets either as a way to commute or for recreation. There are no light rail stations in Foxcroft, but the area is serviced by the city buses via the SouthPark Community Transit Center.<\/p>\n

Those with little ones will be happy with the school selections in Foxcroft as the assignments for elementary and middle schools are highly ranked within the CharMeck school system. High schoolers can attend Myers Park High School \u2014 a nationally ranked public school.<\/p>\n
