The area is also well-situated for families and retirees looking for a laid-back lifestyle within a relatively short drive to Atlanta. Where is Peachtree Corners?<\/h3>\n

Peachtree Corners is located on the western edges of Gwinnett County and lies 21-miles from Downtown Atlanta. Major highways, including I-85, I-285 and GA 400, all connect to Peachtree Corners. You’ll find Norcross to the south, Johns Creek to the north, Berkeley Crossing to the east and Ellard to the west on your way to the city of Roswell. Part of Peachtree Corners\u2019 western border also brushes up against the Chattahoochee River, a local favorite for recreational fun.<\/p>\n

History<\/h3>\n

The area of Peachtree Corners was once known as Pinckneyville before businessman Paul Duke had a brainstorm. Commutes into Atlanta have always been challenging, and Duke wanted a community where locals could work, live and play in the same cozy community. With the help of land developer Jim Cowart, Peachtree Corners began to take shape. The area continued to develop through 1999 and was eventually incorporated in 2012.<\/p>\n

Peachtree Corners offers a reprieve from urban living without skimping on amenities like restaurants and shopping. Locals move in for nature and a quiet lifestyle. You won\u2019t find bustling nightclubs and all night bars in the area. Instead, spend your days on the water, shopping at Town Center or gathering with friends for a community event.<\/p>\n

What to Do<\/strong><\/p>\n

Locals shop in the hub of Peachtree Corners at Town Center. Dining, shopping and two dozen restaurants offer a pedestrian-friendly experience while shopping and exploring. The outdoor Town Green features 2-acres of turf for picnics. On warm evening nights, you can catch an outdoor film screening and special events that typically include games and all the snacks and sugar you can eat.<\/p>\n

You can catch a flick at the NCG Cinema for all your standard Hollywood blockbusters. You’ll also find a few throw-back films from the past decades. For something more fast-paced, try Nitro Zone with bowling, indoor karting, Bazooka Ball and a stocked arcade. There’s also a sports bar so you can sneak in a reprieve from the kids.<\/p>\n

Boating and fishing is a popular pastime around Peachtree Corners and the rest of Gwinnett county. But don’t be surprised if you hear people talking about when they’re going to “shoot the ‘Hooch.” It’s an iconic pastime for locals living around the northside of Atlanta. Make a date to head over to nearby Sandy Springs and tube or kayak down the Chattahoochee River from Powers Island.<\/p>\n

There’s also green space and nature to explore around Peachtree Corners. Enjoy the river overlooks, amphitheater, short trails and playground at Holcomb Bridge Park. Or spread out to hike and relax at Simpsonwood Park.<\/p>\n

Hang out with the locals at Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar with options like PB&J Burger, candied bacon and lamb shank. There’s something for everyone whether you want cocktails or brews on tap. As the name implies, Buffalo Wild Wings serves up wings and other typical pub grub. What’s more important is which football game is on the sea of large-screen TVs.<\/p>\n
