If you\u2019ve never been here, you may be surprised at the stunningly vibrant nightlife scene in downtown Nashville. SoBro is a couple of blocks south of Broadway (hence the SoBro name), the main drag where the honky-tonks are loud, and the streets are packed every Saturday night!<\/p>\n

Along with skyrocketing development in the area comes some impressive high-rise apartments you\u2019ve got to see! Let\u2019s take a look at some of the fantastic amenities living in SoBro has to offer.<\/p>\n

Where is SoBro?<\/h3>\n

The south side of Nashville\u2019s downtown area, or \u201cthe district\u201d as it\u2019s known, begins south of Broadway. Its northernmost point ends at Peabody street. It runs from the Cumberland River to its east all the way to the Gulch to the west.<\/p>\n

History<\/h3>\n

When it was first established back in the 1800s, SoBro was very different than it is now. It was actually called \u201cBlack Bottom\u201d for a while because it had a tendency to flood, leaving behind the dark black mud of the underdeveloped areas surrounding.<\/p>\n

Fast forward to 1996, and SoBro began a meteoric rise as one of the most upscale metropolitan areas in greater Nashville. Starting with the construction of the Bridgestone Arena, the region saw crazy development. It’s now home to tons of fine dining establishments, gorgeous luxury high-rise apartment buildings and iconic businesses like Third Man Records and Hatch Print Show.<\/p>\n
