With upscale restaurants, posh shops and shopping fit for Nashville\u2019s wealthiest residents – the area is an on-trend hotspot for apartment living for those who can afford it.<\/p>\n

Where is Green Hills?<\/h3>\n

Lying south of Interstate 440, Green Hills is convenient to Downtown Nashville and several other hot neighborhoods with lots of entertainment and dining options, including (but not limited to) 12 South and the old-money area of Belle Meade.<\/p>\n

Its location, coupled with affluent shops and eateries, has made Green Hills one of the most coveted places to live in the city.<\/p>\n

History<\/h3>\n

Green Hills earned its name because of the large, beautiful lots with mature trees on which many of its original homes were built. Established in the 1930s, Green Hills began to see its population rise during the suburban boom after WWII.<\/p>\n

In the beginning, it was built for convenience by car, not walking. Recently, it\u2019s been reborn into a highly walkable area, and you\u2019ll find everything you need within a few block from many of the larger apartment complexes.<\/p>\n

Lifestyle<\/h3>\n

Green Hills is posh but not aloof. High society with a splash of southern hospitality. And it\u2019s a very, very good area to put down roots in Nashville.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the single-family homes lying just off the main drag, you\u2019ll see plenty of families as well as affluent younger singles mingling within the area.<\/p>\n

What to Do<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is no shortage of things to do and places to go in the Green Hills area with a little something for everyone.<\/p>\n

The expansive Green Hills Mall encompasses a considerable amount of space in the area with over 100 brand-name upscale shops, including Jimmy Choo, Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton and more. A four-story Restoration Hardware flagship store occupies the mall as well. One of the few in the country, it\u2019s an all-encompassing upscale shopping and dining experience.<\/p>\n
