Where is South End?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"SouthSouth End is nestled between Wilmore in the North West and Dilworth in the South East. It lies about a 7 minutes\u2019 drive from Uptown and less than 15 minutes away from Charlotte Douglas International Airport. It is right on the Blue Line,\u00a0which makes it quick and convenient to visit other parts of the city as well.<\/p>\n

History <\/strong><\/h3>\n

In the 1850s, Charlotte\u2019s South End began with a railroad that connected Queens City to Columbia and Charleston. It was Charlotte\u2019s first railroad line and, with its creation, grew a small manufacturing community whose focus surrounded textiles.<\/p>\n
