Rents in the largest Michigan city saw a year-over-year increase of 1.1%, or $12, compared to this time last year and no change compared to January.<\/p>\n<h3>Renting in Michigan in February 2020<\/h3>\n<p>The average rent in\u00a0Michigan cities is generally lower than the national average rent. The fastest growing rents in February were in <strong>Wixom<\/strong>, where prices increased by 15.2% year-over-year, or $110. <strong>Comstock Park apartments<\/strong>\u00a0saw the second highest annual increase, jumping by 9.0% and making them $75 more expensive than this time last year. In <strong>Dearborn Heights<\/strong> prices decreased by 1.1% ($10) compared to last February.<\/p>\n<div style=\"max-width: 700px; margin: 0 auto;\"><script id=\"infogram_0_afabe889-90da-4be5-8683-40b0450d0beb\" title=\"RentCafe_Michigan-RentReport-February2020\" src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?vMv\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/allendale-mi\/\">Allendale apartments<\/a>\u00a0are the state&#8217;s most expensive for renters, with an average rent of $1,615, followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/ann-arbor-mi\/\">Ann Arbor<\/a>, where the average monthly rent is $1,580. On the other hand, the cheapest city to rent an apartment of the cities analyzed is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/flint-mi\/\">Flint<\/a>, with an average rent of $649.<\/p>\n<h3>The February national average rent went up by 3.2% year-over-year<\/h3>\n<p>The average apartment rent was $1,468 in February, up $46 since last year, according to apartment data from Yardi Matrix. February apartment rents maintained the same pace as in January, rising by 3.2% year-over-year.
