Spring is a time for change, renewal and fresh beginnings that for me always result in redecorating urges. Nothing big and one room at a time. I think there’s nothing wrong with wanting to shake things up now and then, is there?
The bedroom is one of those spaces that act like a refuge from the world, a place where you can relax and replenish your positive energy. If you want to create a comfortable harmonious environment, maybe add a touch of sophistication to it, there are some tricks that might help.
Choose classy bed linen. Bed linen is a good investment, especially if you choose quality fabrics that are also easy to maintain. Create a calming, discreet yet elegant look with an embroidered comforter in pastel hues; your bedroom will suddenly turn into a serene oasis perfect for unwinding after a hard day’s work.
Minimalist décor is the new cool. Keep your bedroom sleek and chic by creating a minimalist decorating scheme, complemented by a soothing palette of pastels. For a more dramatic effect you can play with bedside lights, a welcome addition to a stylish space.
Revitalize walls. Re-painting partitions can be a daunting chore (and maybe your landlord won’t agree with it) but you can achieve the same effect by using wall art or wall decals instead. In addition to being extremely effective and aesthetic, they are a great way to pull a room together.
Youthful design. Spring should have total access to your bedroom. Antique shops are wonderful for finding nice seasonal décor; go with light fixtures and textiles in romantic shades of peach, pink, pale aqua or lilac; they will convey a serene and optimistic message; or simply put a pretty bouquet of flowers on your nightstand, if you’re not in the mood for new acquisitions.
Imperial touches. If you want to go even further and try a truly luxurious look, four-poster beds are the best. These transcendent pieces of furniture are a real statement of elegance and style, and combined with some silky throws and plush pillows will make a perfect place for you to recline and rest in luxury.
