Why did the hipster cross the road?! To get to Fishtown! Breathe in, breathe out! Breathe in, breathe out! Now that you’re relaxed, you should know you’re a hipster. And if you happen to be moving to Philadelphia, look fashionably no further! Fishtown is your Philly-centered destination.

Why?! Because the neighborhood has become the number one place to live in if you are into vintage clothes, indie music, excellent coffee, and microbrews. Having a good cup of java in the morning is a must, so, if you are tired of your grogginess, you should check out Milkcrate Café, which obviously is not your run of the mill type. A weird cross between a coffee shop, a breakfast joint and a record store, the food here is amazingly cheap and amazingly amazing.

The nightlife here is unique, crazy and diverse. If you came to Philly, and you didn’t visit Johnny Brenda’s, you just should throw every hip thing you own in the trash. Joking aside, this place is quite amazing. Their menu touts a great selection of local beer and food, and they have the best live gigs in town. If you love music, do not miss out on this place!

The neighborhood has become a Mecca for artists in 2011 due to the relatively cheap rents, and it is now considered to be one of the most eclectic neighborhoods in Philadelphia. A lot of things have been said about it, but Fishtown is more or less too hectic to be genuinely describable. If you’re interested in all of these, I ask myself, why haven’t you started packing?!
