Living in Bent Tree – Preston Trail, a Comfortable and Quiet Dallas Community with Prestige

With much of the community’s life centered on the Bent Tree Country Club, there is a lot to recommend about this quiet, family-focused neighborhood in the Far North region of the city of Dallas.

Bent Tree and Preston Trail are both particularly picturesque areas, with lush landscaping, plenty of mature trees, and exquisite features such as the creek that runs through the westernmost part of Bent Tree and portions of Preston Trail. On the whole, these neighborhoods tend to be a bit “off the radar” when compared to other more prominent areas of Far North Dallas, lending them a quieter air and an exceptionally strong community focus for the residents to enjoy.

Development of both areas began in the 1960s and remained steady throughout the decades, but in recent years the area has undergone a renaissance.

Then there’s the Cavanaugh Flight Museum at Addison Airport, dedicated to educating the community about flight, aviation studies, and America’s aviation heritage. Shopping and Dining in the Area

The location of Bent Tree and Preston Trail places the area close to major Dallas shopping destinations including the Dallas Galleria and The Shops at Willow Bend. At the Dallas Galleria, patrons can enjoy access to brand name retailers, including BCBG, Dooney & Bourke, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton. Shoppers can also enjoy a day out with access to an ice skating rink and events throughout the year, especially during the holiday season.

Life in Bent Tree – Preston Trail

Bent Tree and Preston Trail are car-dependent neighborhoods, and there are no major connections to the DART rail line or the Dallas bus system. Those resident in the neighborhood have access to the Dallas and Richardson Independent School Systems, depending on their locations. There is also access to the excellent Plano ISD, including locations such as Rose Haggar Elementary School.

On the whole, the Far North Dallas area tends to have a cost of living on a par with or slightly higher than other regions surrounding Dallas, but lower than the city proper. Crime rates are very low in the Bent Tree and Preston Trail neighborhoods, due in part to the strong community and the homeowner’s associations in the area.
