39 New Apartment Communities Join the Dallas-Fort Worth Housing Market in 2016—See the Top 10 Largest of Them

Everything is bigger in Texas, and if the rental inventory in the Dallas-Fort Forth Metroplex wasn’t already big enough, developers have cranked it up a notch in 2016. According to Yardi Matrix, a total of 14,389 new rental apartments have come online last year in 39 developments with 50 or more units.

New stock entering the market has a positive effect not only on the variety of apartments you can choose from, but it also slows down rent growth. Rents for Dallas apartments grew by a reasonable 5.9% in 2016, and the average rent has reached $1,103—still well below the national level of $1,210. Fort Worth rents increased by 4.9% in the same period, to a $1,082 average.

These are just the raw numbers, but we also wanted to give you some details about the 10 largest developments that came online last year. Scroll down to find out more about the largest rental housing projects that hit the market in 2016:
