Atlanta Metro Gets A Second Batch of New Apartments in 2016: See The Top 10 Largest Projects

There’s nothing like a healthy dose of new apartments to cool down heating rent prices. Rents in the Atlanta metro area grew by a moderate 5.5% in 2016, keeping the average rent for the area around $1,128 as of the end of last year, below the national average. The metropolitan area renters witnessed the grand opening of thousands of new rentals for two consecutive years. In 2016, approximately 8,200 brand new apartments came on the market, after a round of 8,300 new apartments had just been opened during the previous year in Atlanta and surrounding suburbs, according to Yardi Matrix.

Many of these new apartment buildings are full-blown, large-scale developments with parks, professional-like sports courts, golf courses, and other lavish auxiliaries meant to draw the high-end renters’ attention. 8 of the 10 largest developments are located within the city of Atlanta, in prime locations, in the midst of the best shopping, entertaining, and restaurants the city has to offer, including the 32-story residential tower rising above them all, which makes the top spot on our list.
