Registered as a historic property in downtown Manitowoc, the former Schuette Brothers Department Store has been meticulously restored to its turn of the century elegance and prominence. Built in 1902 and located on the corner of South 8th and Jay Streets, the Schuette Building Commercial Spaces and Luxury Apartments offer dramatic ceiling heights, original hardwood flooring, expansive views with floor to ceiling windows, decorative pillars and brick accent walls.
Each apartment includes a garage stall. The hand carved grand staircase is the focal point of the common area which connects all of the commercial spaces together.

Schuette Review
Lived for a year, like the area, like the size of the apartment. Like the large windows, letting in lots of light. Hate the large windows, letting in cold winds in the winter, furnace did not keep up. And in the summer the air conditioning will not keep up when the temperatures get to 90ish degrees F. Haven't had the opportunity to use the common area for larger groups of visitors, but that is a nice feature. The deck, have used a few times. Be nice if the garages were attached. Be nice if the back door use some other lock besides a key, trying to open with hands full of stuff, turning the key, holding it in place, then turning the handle, then pulling on the door, is inconvenient.
