Why Renters Love It Here
Location is everything
Parking is dumb. 65 a month is wild. Should be a flat charge of like 200. For a 12-month lease that adds up. Half the washers and dryers don't work, always noisy at night due to drunk partying college students. Apartment materials are old and outdated. Crazy how the 2 refurbished apartments are the same price as the old ones. The only thing good so far is that Matience has been fast and helpful. The location is wonderful being right on UWL's campus. Rent is high when you add parking though. If you get a refurbished unit or corner/end unit it's not bad but the middle units are pretty back since 2 rooms lack windows and there are no ceiling fans.
College Housing Review
We have lived here full time for just over a month now and we have had positive experiences. All staff has been super helpful and they do so in a respectful and timely manner, they show they care about their residents and want their residents to have positive experiences. The only negative I have about our current situation is the price of parking, $65 per month to park in an alley way is quite ridiculous considering all other parking options at other housing is a fraction of the cost to park here.
Highly Recommend!
If anyone were to ask me where to live off campus while attending UWL, I would tell them to live here. The rent is completely manageable, and the apartment is well worth the price paid. The close proximity to campus is a nice bonus. I can walk to class everyday, just as if I lived on campus.
1414 Pine
I love living at 1414 pine st. I love the location and the accessibility to parking even without a parking pass. I love the apartment itself. The updated floors, big bedrooms and good closets, the double vanity helps out an apartment of 5 girls. There is enough kitchen space and room for all of our stuff.
Unsatisfactory of apartment
I have lived in 1414 Pine for only a couple months and i'm not extremely satisfied. The cost of living when I toured last year went up immensely. I was told "you will pay at most $30 for utilities, because our building is well insulated and we are getting new washers and dryers that work better". Both of these things are not true so far, which has made my expectations decrease. I am also really disappointed with how poorly the washers and dryers work. It is not appealing to be paying $9-$20 a week just to have decently clean clothes that are still damp after 3 dry cycles. When moving into the apartment there was mold in the bathroom and underneath the cabinets. Not only that but cabinets were broken and the place overall looked as if it was rushed or put together poorly (white paint on door frames, holes in the walls and doors, poor paint job (not smooth), stains on carpets and holes in the window screens. There is also poor communication and unexpected fees added without a notice. Overall, love the location not the apartment.
