What are the hours for the Leasing Office and Amenities?
The Leasing Office is open Monday through Friday 10AM to 6PM. The Fitness Center, Conference Room, and Study Room are open 24 Hours with card access. The Game Room is open every day from 10AM to 12AM. The pool is open from early spring to late fall from 10AM to 10PM. The hot tub is open year-round from 10AM to 10PM.

When does my lease start?
Your lease can start in June, July, or August depending on your needs and our availability. Assignments are made on a first come, first served basis.
When is my first payment due?
Your first payment is due the day your lease begins and the amount is listed on your Welcome Letter. Please remember that even if you choose to move in after your lease start date, your payment is still due. Feel free to mail your payment to the address listed above. We accept checks, money orders, and cashier’s checks. Checks should be made out to Squire Hill Harrisonburg.
When is rent due each month?
Rent is due on the 1st of each month. We do allow a four day grace period, which means rent is considered late after the 5th of the month. Please keep in mind that postal holidays can impact delivery of payments.
How will I know what amount to pay?
Your monthly Resident Statement will be emailed to you. This statement will include your monthly rent, trash, cable, and Internet. Water is listed on your Resident Statement as a separate charge. You may also log into your resident account to view your statement, make a payment, request maintenance, and MORE!
Is there an option to pay my rent automatically?
Yes, you can sign up for Auto-Pay after you’ve made your first payment and established an Online Resident Services account. Be sure your bank account and routing numbers are handy before logging into your account. You’ll add your bank account information first and then select the Auto-Pay Set-up tab and follow the prompts to sign up.
How do I set up electricity?
Electricity must be set up before you move-in through Harrisonburg Electric Commission. If you are a JMU student, you may use UDAP (University Deposit Assistance Program). This program provides protection for student credit ratings and allows electricity to be connected without a deposit. Learn more about UDAPhere.
Do I need to have Renter’s Insurance?

How do I request maintenance?
We offer 24-hour emergency maintenance. To place a maintenance request, call (866) 329-0247 or log into your Online Resident Services account to submit a request online.
Where do residents and visitors park?
Each leaseholder receives one parking pass that allows them to park in reserved areas. Visitors must park in spaces marked “Visitor.” Each apartment home is given visitor passes to use at their discretion. Additional visitor passes may be purchased at the Leasing Office. Resident Parking Passes and Visitor Parking Passes must be visibly displayed at ALL times in order to avoid towing. Passes must be returned prior to move-out in order to avoid fines.
Do you allow all breeds of dogs?
While we love all kinds of dogs, some dog breeds are restricted based on their tendency toward aggressive behavior. Restricted breeds, whether pure-bred or a mix, include Doberman, Chow, Pit Bull, Staffordshire Terrier, and Rottweiler. German Shepherds are allowed, as long as we receive a note from a veterinarian stating the dog is non-aggressive. We require all pets to be registered with the Leasing Office and a $300 pet fee. Each month pet owners will be charged $25 per pet for Pet Rent.
I love the Squire Hill community which is why I have lived here for the past 3 years. If I ever have a problem, the office team figures out a way to solve it.
