great apartment horrible staff
great location, amenities, building. Maintenance staff, great. Management staff horrible experience. Always paid my rent on time for 7 years, scammed me out of 4-5 months rent when I moved out, and them will not respond. Had to threaten attorney action. Couldn't even get the elevator locked out for move out despite many emails and a promise that it would be.
Noise/Maintenance/Parking
All aspects are excellent except for the following: Noise: upstairs neighbors too rowdy at times, well into the night (1am) with parties. Luckily only over the weekend when we don't have work the next day, but still upstairs neighbors don't seem very considerate. Parking: until recently, the parking lot for the Queen St building always had enough spots. However, there had been one time last week where all the spots were taken, apparently by folks with hangtags. We were told when signing for the apartment and spots that the office would never give out more spots than were available. That night, my fiancee and I ended up parking on the street. This can only happen for three reasons that I can see: 1) someone in the office miscounted; 2) we were lied to regarding parking spot availability; or 3) a resident has a guest(s) who have been inappropriately parking in the lot and should therefore have been towed. I personally feel that it is not appropriate to not have a spot available when coming home regardless of the time of day. We pay for the spot monthly and therefore have the right to an open spot; there shouldn't be any difficulty on our end to finding a spot that we are paying for. Maintenance: On the night of Wednesday July 29, our unit's AC went out. There was no way I myself or fiancee could fix it; it was 80+ degrees F outside and our apartment was starting to really heat up, even at night. I called the emergency maintenance line twice, received no calls for an hour. At that time, the off duty (not on call) maintenance worker returned my call, apologized for the late response, informed me that the on call maintenance worker hadn't been picking up any calls or texts, and that this particular worker had been unresponsive before. I feel it is not appropriate for an emergency maintenance line to be staffed by someone with a history of being unresponsive to appropriate emergency maintenance calls.
