Rating & Reviews for Kingsmere
Overall rating
Nice place
The Kingsmere Apartments are nice. I lived there for two years with my family. The location is within 5 minutes drive from Centre mall, 5 mins walk from a nice park, and two bus routes are nearby (Route 50 at its doorstep and Route 55 about 1/2 a mile walk. The management is very responsive and cooperative to maintenance requests and we had no problems with maintenance. They also have reserved parking lots. Every apartment has a very long balcony, which is great. It is far from downtown, on the quieter side of the river and generally has a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. On the down side, the snow removal after heavy snow is a little slow. The exhaust system in the kitchen is not great (at least in our apartment) and recently there has been some pest-issues (at least in our apartment). The management tried thorough professional pest-control, but didn't help much at least in our apartment. Overall, I rate them highly as a good place to stay for long-term in Saskatoon.
Overall Good
The staff are very friendly and very helpful from the property managers to maintenance. The rent to value ratio is really nice. The big problem I have are the neighbours (residents). I've never lived with such rude and uncourteous people despite always being nice to others I've met. From loud stomping from upper floors, loud banging on walls, loud voices all hours of the day and night to just watching you struggle to get your car unstuck from the parking lot after a snow fall while crying with a shovel in their hand, glaring at you when you walk up to your suite, moving their big vehicle into the only stall on the street your small car can manage due to snowfall, they just don't care about anyone else. It's exhausting to deal with, that being said there are a few good, kind hearted residents I've met. The actual location isn't bad, close to 8th street, Taylor street and Boychuk so getting to and from is easy. There are schools near by and children who live in the building who seem to enjoy living here, I hear them often but its not a bother because they sound happy playing outside and such. There are two laundry rooms on each floor, one in each wing that are easy enough to use. Each suite gets one parking stall in the lot so if you have more than one vehicle it can be tricky, in the winter street parking is limited, in the summer it seems lots of people have guests over so parking can also be a pain then too. Overall its a nice place to live, lots depends on personal preference and what you can deal with. The shining quality here is the the staff and how kind they are, it enhances the overall quality of living.
Move in
I just moved into 822 Kingsmere and would like to say thank you. I have rented for past fifteen years with various rental companies. This is my first time renting with Weidner and so far I’m impressed. I have never received a welcome package with any place before. The gift bag of cleaning and so on stuff was an incredible gift especially at this time. I was also greeted by maintenance worker during my move in, he was gracious enough to put a door stop in place for me . So far I have had great experience here . Thank you to all staff
Gym workout above me
When I moved to Kingsmere it was great. Now the neighbor's upstairs have a treadmill & workout on the daily basis. It was nice here until a Gymnasium was opened above me. Wellington was nice. Wanted to stay at Kingsmere however not sure what my options are. Thanks neighbors upstairs for the constant pounding over head.
