The Fairmount Hotel was completed just in time for the 1905 Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition. Located on NW 26th Avenue, across from what was once the Exposition's entrance, The Fairmount was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
UD+P is thrilled to apply our renovation and preservation expertise to this vital piece of Portland history so it can be enjoyed by Portland residents for another century or more.
In 2018, the property underwent an extensive restoration and renovation—all while preserving the historic charm of the Fairmount’s exterior.
The renovated Fairmount Apartments have approximately 80 modern units with a mix of Studio, One Bedrooms and Two Bedroom apartments.

Fairmount

This place is in a great neighborhood with lots of great people living in the building. For an ubran environment there is a nice sense of fommunity among the neighbors. Its a liiiiiittle bit expesive for what you get, but that is somewhat offset by the nice common areas and courtyard. Also a nice community of pet owners. The staff is friendly enough but can be a little unresponsive.

Nice place to live

The Fairmount is a really cute building and my neighbors are all wonderful. Zero issues with tje apartment. Management can be a bit unresponsive. For example, they shut off my hot water when there was a leak, on a thirsday, seemingly forgot about me on friday (despite my calls) and left me without hot water for a whole weekend. Another time they asked to close our windows because they were going to power wash the exterior. I, along with others on the top floor, took at our ACs and closed the windows all day on a 90 degree day. I had left for work that day for a 10 hour shift, which meant my cat was inside baking because i was required to shut my windows. Turns out they werent even washing the top floor windows, which was not in the email. They never issued a clarification or apology. Those type of issues seem to be typical from chatting with neighbors. That said, this is a reasonably priced building in a nice part of town, and you'll probably like it fine.

Overpriced

Outside of the very high rent, you pay an additional $60ish a month for common area utilities. During the winter your electric bill will be ridiculous because the only heaters are located directly above the "original" windows so essentially you pay hundreds of dollars to heat the outside while freezing in your overpriced apartment.

Unfriendly staff

The staff seems annoyed and is unfriendly. The grounds are littered with trash both inside the building and out especially the trash area. There is always some bullshit back there and litter is hidden in the bushes almost daily and Im sick of picking it up. I can't wait to move.

Management places profit over tenant welfair

After living here over two years new neighbors were noisy, uncooperative, rude, and purposefully disruptive, and they have a dog that barks constantly. I asked management to fix it, they said I could move, but instead of making it a simple and easy way to resolve a bad situation, they instead made me pay a higher security deposit, sign a new lease, and jump through other hoops which took a long time. And the bad tenants didn't have to do anything. They remain where they are, they continue their rude, selfish behaviors, and are not out financially or have they been inconvenienced.
