Keep It Down Up There!

My wife & I were thrilled to be here until we got new neighbors above us several months ago. We have tried to allow for the stay at home, work from home, we're all going stir crazy factor. However, they never pick up a chair to move it. Instead they drag them along floors with no rugs. It sounds like they have unpacked some 1980s Dancercise tapes at times. They seem to run, not walk on a treadmill. At one time (though this seems to have stopped) golf balls could be heard bouncing & rolling on the floor. As I type this, there is a constant, slow, steady thud. I'm pretty sure someone is lifting weights. I get it. We're all in this together & we have to allow for unusual circumstances. However, this noise was a factor long before longterm work from home was a thing. The best solution we have found is to both walk around with Bose noise canceling headphones on when it gets to be too much. And it's not just the noise. We can actually feel vibrations rippling through the unit as they do whatever they are (currently) doing. This seems like a pretty solid, well insulated building (we haven't had our furnace on since November). So, feeling their noise is very surprising. Maybe they are first time apartment dwellers & just don't know any better. Maybe everyone hears their neighbors above them (including the people below us if that apartment is occupied). I would really like to know how they feel about us in fact. If that's the case, just let us know. All I know is we never hear anyone in either of the apartments on either side of us & they are both occupied. No crying babies. No dogs barking (and there are LOTS of dogs). Nothing unless it comes from out in the hall when someone is directly in front of our unit. It just seems that people who don't have the best hearing to begin with, shouldn't have to invest in $300 headphones to be able to have some peace & quiet. We still, for the most part, love the place. Just not as much as we used to.

Baseline 158 is an inviting, pet-friendly property. Dogs and cats are most welcome with some restrictions: Two pet limit, full-grown maximum weight of 35 lbs. for each pet. Pets must be house-broken and properly inoculated. Breed restrictions include but are not limited to: Akita, Husky, Chow, Pit Bull, Doberman Pinscher, Presa Canario, Elkhound, Rottweiler, German Shepherd, St. Bernard, Great Dane, Wolf Breeds. A refundable deposit for 1 or 2 pets of $250 due at move-in. Only one fee for 1 or 2 pets of $20 a month.
