Serious Concerns About this Operation

I regret to inform potential renters that my experience with this property has been highly unsatisfactory. The issues are abundant and glaring, from poorly trained staff to malfunctioning amenities. Staff Accountability and Training: The staff seem to lack proper training and display high unaccountability. Their responses to tenant concerns are often dismissive, further eroding the trust necessary for a healthy landlord-tenant relationship. Maintenance Supervisor: The maintenance supervisor seems more focused on social interactions than attending to the pressing maintenance issues plaguing the property. Amenities: Both the garbage chute and the elevator are perpetually out of order. You'd be fortunate if either works for a week straight, making day-to-day living inconvenient. Appliances: Though the devices may look modern and sleek, don't be fooled. They are of cheap quality and don't last long. Rent Increase: I received a letter implying the management's willingness to negotiate a proposed rent increase. However, it later became apparent that Rio Can is unyielding, which felt deceptive. Security and Concierges: The absence of concierges or security staff is a significant safety concern. A stark example was a life-threatening incident where a tenant went into cardiac arrest. First responders could not gain immediate access to the building, leading to tragic consequences. This incident alone speaks volumes about the negligent or incompetent nature of the staff. To potential renters, I strongly advise proceeding cautiously should you consider moving here. Your well-being and peace of mind may be at stake.

Our apartment has created a very comfortable lifestyle. It's super easy to communicate with management regarding any issues we are having. Maintenance really helped us with hanging everything once we moved in. This is especially necessary as in small condo spaces you really need to maximize wall usage.The gym facility is great - nice to have a large window. I love the events that are thrown - it really helps create a community-type environment where you can get to know your neighbours. I was disappointed to find out that the bike wash station was actually just a shower and after we moved in we found out if was a feature that would not even be able to be used. The gym/yoga studio could use more sanitation equipment (sprays, wipes). Our appliances have had a few issues already - the stove light turns on and off by itself, the sound no longer works. Our dryer can take over an hour to dry a small load. The elevators have been very unreliable. Would be great if there was a hands free entrance into the bike rooms as it is hard to open the door when you have a bike in your hands.

Cheaply Built and No Rent Control

Kickboards are falling out, fridge constantly beeps, and the oven can't hold it's temperature. Also, no rent control and they are raising rents almost 15% this year.
