Overview
These and two connecting buildings make up the four buildings of the Foster Complex.
After years of neglect and many layers of ill fated urban renewal, the buildings had fallen into disrepair, and we almost completely vacant other than a family of pigeons.
After a $4 million investment from Sequence Development, and partners at Metroplex, Capital Bank, National Grid and the National Park Service and State Historic Preservation Office's Historic Tax Credit Program, the buildings have been completely re-imagined into 21 apartments, 2 restaurants, a make-up studio, spa and 6000 sq ft of dramatic office space.
The Facade of the Railway Building was completely removed, replaced with a modern interpretation of the original glass arched three story window the building once proudly wore. The Hotel Foster Building got a careful and intricate restoration of its delicate terra cotta facade, festooned with flowers and fruits.
Each apartment at The Foster has been carefully thought out and designed with an artistic aesthetic marrying the buildings' unique historic details with modern finishes and fixtures.
Choose from one, two and three bedrooms, with views of bustling State Street, the mountains, and iconic GE sign.
Each apartment has hardwood flooring or restored terrazzo floors, stainless steel appliances, washers and dryers, ample closet space, subway and penny tile, soaking tubs and video intercom system. Request your own private tour
What others say about this property:
What others love about this property:
Poor communication
Things go wrong in any businesses. But when something happens that a customer needs attention to, the most important thing is to provide direct, timely and accurate communication about how the issue will be resolved. I don't get that with Redburn.
Good location, fairly nice apartments, unresponsive staff
I like the location but the property manager is very unresponsive to emails and does not like to be contacted by phone, and the fire alarm goes off far too often for a residential building not occupied by college kids (at least 2-3 times a month, sometimes in the middle of the night). Parking is convenient but management is possibly in the process of trying to change that. Maintenance people do not appear to be experts and are also pretty unresponsive though better than the property manager. Property manager seems to be very overworked in general on a regular basis. Bottom line: this could be a nice place to live if Redburn was willing to put in the effort but that doesn't seem to be the case.
