Tower 21

I like living in this building. I love the convenience of the location and ease of commute with several options (NYC ferry, MTA bus or train, CitiBike). Being across a little shopping area with a supermarket right across is also very convenient, and now with new businesses on the same side of the building (a Deli and a pharmacy), it is even better! The proximity to Broadway and restaurants is another advantage, and so is the proximity to the waterfront and parks for strolling. Lest we forget, I love the elevator! The main negative aspect of the building location is the noise of course. We live in NYC so it does come with the territory. 21st Street is very noisy, with buses, firetrucks, ambulances, and because many people make illegal turns to and from the shopping area, despite the double yellow line, there is a lot of honking. Now this is mostly audible with the windows open, which I personally prefer as long as weather allows it. With windows closed, it is much better as the windows are well insulated. Overall, a nice place to live.

I have lived here for a very short time but I already feel home. The super is truly super and very helpful and kind. Reason for noise rating: building itself is quiet. Street noise is audible. Noise insulation at windows is not optimal. Parking is a bit complicated in the neighborhood but somewhat manageable. There is an Amazon locker in the building and two laundromats within a few feet of the building.

The apartments and building are immulate! The super takes the utmost care in the residents desires and his pride in his job really shows.
