Great apartment (as long as you don't require sleep)

It's a great space and it's well kept up....BUT be forewarned .... we had no idea how noisy Dehart Street is, night and day, but particularly on weekend nights. The Homestead Bar across the street must have a capacity for hundreds of drinkers and unfortunately the acoustics in the street and of the apartment units facing the street amplifies each voice both inside and outside the bar. Unfortunately the bar remains open until 2am on weekends and that's when the fun begins with hundreds of (sometimes tipsy) customers pouring out onto Dehart street waiting for their Ubers or mommies or daddies to come pick them up. Some of the kids should really learn to handle their alcohol better because it is not infrequent to find vomit on the sidewalk in front of the Loft's entrance on Sunday mornings.By around 2:45 am things quiet down just for a few minutes ...until the clean up crew starts throwing garbage bags filled with empty beer cans into the back of a pick up truck. Then it's quiet again until 5:10am when the garbage truck parade begins. It's a shame because I'm a Gold Medal Olympian sleeper, good for a solid 8 hours under normal circumstances. It's not the Lofts ownership/management fault. It's just a bad combination of a huge indoor/outdoor bar across the street from a large residential building where no one had the forethought to do some acoustic engineering testing before the apartment building and/or the bar was constructed. It's a rental. We're outta here when the lease is up. Come check out the building but do NOT rent one of the beautiful 2 bedroom/2 bath apartments facing Dehart Street if your hearing is intact and you require some daytime quiet at home and nighttime sleep in order to function at work. BTW, we've lived in Manhattan for many years and had a much quieter experience.

Great. Excellent with some fixes.

We have enjoyed living in Met Loft overall and the staff does a great job. Management could do some small things, like getting another luggage cart (or at least fixing the current one) and managing packages better. We have a nice big shower but the hot water heater doesn't heat enough for more than a brief shower (after several maintenance attempts). But all in all the amenities and overall quality of the building and apartments is excellent.

Overall good place to live

Overall good place to live. Noise from patrons who use the parking garage is a problem and occasional homeless I’ve seen close to or in the Building.
