Nice, but could be better

Love the area, staff are very nice and helpful, grounds kept good. I have lived here since 2017 and have enjoyed it, the only thing I would change is that the apartments need updating. The apartments are a nice size, but you can tell they are old. I wouldn't mind living here longer if they were updated.

Cliff of Minnetonka Resident for 3.5 years

My roommate and I chose Cliffs back in 2016 because it was a great apartment for the cost. Spacious, decent location to downtown, in-unit washer dryer. We really enjoyed living here for about 2.5 years before our opinion of the complex started to go down. For starters, the staff is not pleasant or accommodating. For renters who have always had on-time payments and never left a mess, broken anything or been any kind of nuisance we haven't been treated very well. Both my roommate and I were going to be out of the country without internet or cell access (yes, that still happens depending on where you go) on the 1st of the month when rent was due. We were leaving around the 20th and hadn't received our bill yet, so we were unable to pay early. I called the office twice before our trip, never getting to speak to anyone, and left 2 voicemails explaining the situation. In the second voicemail I said if we didn't hear back with a bill we would not be able to pay on time and would pay when we got back, but would not pay a late fee because we did everything we could to not get one. When we returned 3 days after the 1st we had over a $100 late fee. Other examples are the office not being accomodating if you are out of town when it snows and the lot needs to be plowed. Again we called and were told it didn't matter if we weren't there and couldn't move the car, we would still be towed and charged. Noise levels of children playing in the hallways are outrageous but staff will do nothing about it, instead choosing to focus on christmas decorations left up past January and charging $100 to remove a string of garland. Maintenance is fixes what you report as broken, but never the underlying issue. We have gotten mold in our master 5 separate times and they just paint over it. An appliance in our kitchen has also broken 4 times and never been replaced, just mended only to break again. Our opinion of the Cliffs has steadily gone downhill and we would not recommend living here.
