Glad To Be Moved Out of Rex26

Very happy to be out of Rex. Originally thought we'd be there for a few years but after the first 6 months of living there we knew we needed out. Very poorly managed and overpriced. Many of us tenants who moved in before construction was complete (even though it was supposed to be) were lied to about certain aspects of the building. On the bright side it pushed us into buying our first home which we're super happy to be in.

Pretty but with issues

I like it's a new building - but way too many issues that have happened since opening - mainly with parking. Pay a lot for it having a lot of security issues and people just taking my paid spot. A lot of management turnover. Hoping the new manager stays. The leasing agent, Vanessa, has been my main point of contact and is the most helpful person I've dealt with. For the price, trash/sewer/water or at least one utility should be included. I chose this place for security and the aesthetic. They are pretty apartments, but after living in for awhile, the construction could be better - again, this mainly is due to the cost. I've gotten used to all the noise outside, it's essentially white noise to me. The only noise I really don't like is my upstairs neighbors seem to enjoy jumping where it shakes my apartment. Do I feel generally safe here? Yes. Are the amenities worth the extra cost? No. Would I recommend to others? Yes and No. It all depends on the priorities and needs of each person.

Poor communication from management

Rex26 has been poorly managed from the bery beginning of my lease. The lease was not uploaded to the site as I was told it would be, no communication. The loading dock was double booked which cost me a fortune for extra time with moving company (only 1 elevator in the loading dock). They gave me a $20 gift card to French Meadow as an apology.. a bit like a slap in the face. My parking was not added to my rent and Taunee was very understanding and kindly took care of that issue but my bill online has not been accurate several times online and it takes days to be addressed. The main thing is that the parking garage door was open for several hours multiple times which compromises the security of the entire building. I expressed concern about it after it was wide open for 7 hours and was told that “maintenance was preoccupied w/more pressing matters.” The security and safety of residents should be a priority especially given the uptick in robberies and gun violence in Uptown recently. The fire pit is the best amenity. For whatever reason the 5th floor amenities are still not open to us. The gym is small but the equipment is in good condition. Management doesn’t respond appropriately to most concerns I have sent in. The best thing about Rex 26 is the people who live here, the woman who cleans the place, and the maintenance guy Tyler. They have been helpful. The on-call manager Evan P has been repeatedly dismissive of my concerns. I have lived at Rex 26 for 7 months and in that time there have been THREE managers, all of whom are terrible communicators and have not addressed concerns timely or communicated with residents appropriately. Overall, if you can handle the continual failure of management (except Taunee) and the near impossibility of reaching real people to discuss issues. Move in here! If security or communication matters to you, don’t do it. Lastly, there is constant white noise inside of the units due to the HVAC which personally irritates me.

The only complaint I have is that my upstairs neighbors are extremely noisy/ constantly stomping at all times of the day. Other than that, I've really enjoyed living here .

Amazing!

the property is very well maintained and appliances and materials of the unit are very nice and durable. The gym itself is small, however still nice for a shorter workout. Lyndale ave is sometimes pretty busy and difficult to navigate during rush hour and driving into the parking ramp. All around the apartment and management are awesome, and the staff are always very respectful and helpful. I don't plan on leaving any time soon! I think you get more than what you pay for!
