It served as the Christian Science Church until 2011, when the current owner totally rehabbed it. It served as her restaurant, Savory Maine, until 2 years ago. The location is perfect. It is on a quiet residential street, on the shore of the Damariscotta River and only one block from Damariscotta's vibrant downtown. The space that houses this apartment was the school room, the sanctuary of the church and the main dining room for the restaurant. The restaurant downsized 9 years ago and the apartment was created. The lovely, large, open space with 12 foot ceilings, chandeliers and wainscoting was retained. The kitchen is in what was the wait station and partially in the open space. The current tenants have used furniture placement to delineate different living spaces. The raised stage area with a large window overlooking the river is perfect for a dining table. There is a large waterfront deck. The handicapped accessible bathroom has a walk-in tub and shower. There are interior stairs to the utility room with a washer and dryer that are shared with another apartment. The rent is all inclusive- heat, air-conditioning, propane, electricity, internet, water, sewer, trash pick-up, plowing. The apartment is unfurnished. One off street parking space is included. One or two well behaved quiet pets will be considered with a one time non-refundable pet fee. The apartment can also be rented for a shorter term and can be furnished.
