Two star amenities further explained
I'm certainly very happy living here based upon my 5 star review of each category with the exception of the "amenities" and the fact I have resided here for 10 years...my reason for the low rating on the amenities is simply because there has been one, literally one, "upgrade" in 10 years and that would be the shuffle board game in the community room. I've tried it and yes, it is fun, however I think people generally want more. A few suggestions, which I would love others to add to because I am but one person, of mine: an enclosed dog-play area with bench seating for gathering purposes, more umbrellas or shaded areas by the pool (this is really more of a real health concern than an amenity), ANYTHING to do with the gym...it is in desperate need of a full on makeover and many upgrades especially regarding cleanliness however, if there are still exercise mats in there and a large exercise ball they are most likely the ones I offered to personally replace 5 years ago...that's also just gross, not really an amenity, pickle ball court(s), a basketball court, a summer family movie series held outdoors on a big screen, a designated daily "adult only" swim time, better hiking trails easily connecting the one by the wastewater treatment plant to Whitney Woods (this was in the original design plans but for some reason was overlooked), a second trash area on Timberview Lane, a quarterly cocktail/fun appetizer get together in the community room, possibly organized groups that meet regularly like a cribbage club, book club, poker game night, a seasonal property cleanup day, a neighborhood yard sale day, a designated "take it or leave it" area with strict guidelines as to the types of things that can be left for someone else's taking, an annual pet parade...okay, I think I probably could've stopped at pickleball courts however it's easy to see how many fun things that can be provided to bring the community closer together & that wouldn't cost a lot of money.
Rents in Cohasset
https://www.zumper.com/rent-research/cohasset-ma Average rent for 1 bedroom apartments have decreased in Massachusetts and the Boston area and in Cohasset over the passed year (see reference above) during this time of pandemic and economic hardship. However, it appears that The Preserve at Cohasset and any other apartment complex of 50 units or more in Cohasset (if there are any other apartment complexes of 50 units or more in this small town of 8,400 people) has chosen to dramatically increase it rents, adding an additional and unfair financial burden at its residents. I hope this is not the case, as I think the residents, general public and media would find this information intolerable, if true. We shall see how it plays out as new rent and lease renewals are made in the coming months at the Preserve at Cohasset.
Preserve
Think when leasing apartments more consideration should be taken to have children in lower levels and not overhead especially that there is no carpet as a sound barrier. I am frustrated with things being dropped down stairs for play and also for constantly jumping so that items fall off walls.
