Building has problems

The maintenance team is great! The apartment unit itself is decent, but the appliances are not the best. the building has way too many problems including broken and not enough elevators, and the water gets turned off every week.

Good location. Too much construction and inconvenience

Good location. Too much construction and noise from that during the week. Also one elevator working is a real inconvenience. Rent should be dropped while elevators are not working fully. Gym and amenities are not enough to pay for the value.

The view

The view was amazing as is proximity to the beach in the summer. In the winter it’s pretty far from everything. The constant noise during the work week and unavailability of elevators is bad. Small issues or emergencies are addressed immediately by maintenance. Anything requiring follow up takes a very long time. Alec was very helpful over the year we were there.

Certainly not "luxury"

Not great for the price, and very far from what anyone would consider a luxury building - the management company is also bottom of the barrel so I have my doubts on whether the situation will improve any time soon. There's constant construction noise all day long as they work on nearby apartments (I'm told it's been ongoing for over 2 years straight, with no end in sight), low-quality appliances that break and may or not be fixed when you put in a maintenance request, and constant utility shutdowns for when they need to fix one of the several reoccurring water/gas issues in the building.

Nice apartment, okay neighborhood, need a car

My partner and I moved into 1410 Columbia 6 months ago while construction was finishing up. Tl;dr, the apartment itself is beautiful (good quality appliances, clean, no pests) and livable, but the building and neighborhood are disappointing. We were told that amenities like the gym would be accessible in October 2021, but they actually opened 2 months later. The building was also working on the fire alarm which caused alarms to go off multiple times a day for the entire month of October. We have also had to call maintenance a number of times to fix parts of the shower and windows even though this is a brand new unit. If you move here, make sure it's when construction is complete. Would also not recommend moving here if you don't have a car or don't like to drink- no close grocery stores or fun things to do (except the two most popular southie bars). Broadway is walking distance, but there aren't too many decent grocery stores near by - we take the bus to get groceries because the ones within walking distance are either too pricey or don't have what we need. There is an 11 bus stop right across the street which helps, and Andrew (red line station) is a 15 minute walk. The unit itself is great. Spacious, beautiful wood floors, quartz countertops and new amenities. The gas stove is a great plus. The view of the beach is AMAZING.
