I like these apartments. I like the location, I like the layout of the buildings. I have to leave a somewhat disappointed overall score because this complex has been sold to several different companies in the last few years and as a result there has been a lot of time without any real property manager to organize maintainance and tenant services. There have been great people put in charge only to be given the boot several months later and so they kinda all just checked out and stopped responding to tenants. As far as prospective new tenants looking for insight to the buildings, the units are a bit on the older side, with nice big master bedrooms and some with small additional bedrooms. The kitchens are narrow like most apartments but manageable, just light on counter space. A lot of the units are equipped with appliances from the literal 80s, and there is an up charge to get them modernized. I have no major issues structurally with the units as far as disrepair or anything but due to the placement of units these apartments suffer from a lack of airflow, and don't have any hot air returns in them so they hold on to moisture pretty bad. There are some minor bug problems as a result of this and the lack of any windows on the one side of each unit means you will need fans to get good circulation and the most from your AC unit. The area is pretty quiet and has great access to stores and downtown mchenry. I will update this if the newest manager fixes things but I have been promised a lot in the last few years and it's always fallen through.
