good houses, but it is impossible to get maintenance EVER

It is mostly nice to live here. Our apartment is beautiful, has a great renovated kitchen and bathroom, is somewhat quiet (the floors creak like crazy), and is in perfect location. However, all of our maintenance requests are constantly neglected by the apartment management. We’ve had washers out of order for months, strange gas-like smells ignored, a nothing done about a huge hole in the roof of our patio, right over the staircase… The roof hole has been ignored for a year now, even though we left multiple complaints and requests to fix it. The situation has led to three painful accidents during last winter already, as me and my roomate fell down the stairs because of the ice forming under the roof hole. I am hoping that the property management will be more attentive to the residents’ requests, and will treat us more decently in the upcoming years. only after that the property will be ideal!

Location

The best part about this apartment is the location. Everything else is trash. The floors are loud, you can hear EVERYTHING from a phone buzzing to intimate moments from the apartment above... so get a 3rd floor unit. The maintenance is cool, but it's always just a bandage never a real fix. The laundry room could be updated, but realistically tenants could just be cleaner.

Bad maintenance recently

We have lived here for two years. The apartments are of good quality, but the maintenance is very bad. Our maintenance requests have been dealt with well only during the first half-year of our residency here. After that, they have just been ignored for the most part of it. For example, we have been asking to fix the roof over our back door for half a year - it has a big hole in it and is dangerous in winter due to icicles forming right over our backdoor. Nothing was done in half a year already. Other smaller requests (like lightbulb change in the hallway) have also been ignored. We love living here but this is very disappointing.

Pet Policy

Pets are limited by breed. There is a limit of 2 pets per apartment. In general, only common, domestic, non-aggressive animals will be accepted.   No exotic pets (such as reptiles, ferrets, pot belly pigs) are permitted.  Birds, if permitted, must be caged at all times.  Fish tanks, if permitted, may not exceed 40 gallons and must be properly supported.  Dogs, if permitted:  at a minimum, residents will not be allowed to have a dog that is a Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Doberman, German Shepherd, Malamute, Bull Terrier, wolf-dog hybrid, Chow-Chow and any dog that manager believes, in its sole discretion, is a cross  breed of or related to any of these breeds.  We may also restrict any breed that becomes known as aggressive, in our sole discretion.  Other animals may be excluded.  We may require the removal of any pet that shows aggressive behavior.  Pet rules apply to all pets at the Community, including those pets that are visiting or are temporary.
