I also just want to let you guys know I have written A rebuttal to be looked at by the hearing board.
Great value-- but it will catch up in amenities.
The actual unit itself is priced at an amazing value for the location, views, and the HUGE balconies. However, there are a lot of added fees. Laundry prices are CRAZY high, maintenance is sometimes pricey/not covered, and the move in process is quite expensive. If you would like to add a roommate, you each have to pay hundreds of dollars just to get the key/ add the name to the lease. However, it is an AMAZING location with a great pool and fitness center. The building is a bit outdated, as it used to be an old hotel. Common areas seen to still have this outdated decor. Each unit is different, but my unit is seen to be built pretty poorly-- appliances from 2001 that frequently break, trim/tiles that always fall off, and the paint job is very uneven with chunks of dust and hair in the paint. There is a parking garage attached to the building that has plenty of spots at a cheap rate compared to other garages in the area, however expect a typical multistory winding garage. The staff is all super friendly and kind, and always willing to help. There is also a tailor/dry cleaners in the building that can definitely come in handy. This is a great unit, but expect the price you pay for.
Worst management. Loaded promises Pressure selling
Was in a bing looking for apartment. Realtor found this location. The owner Bill failed to show up to the original viewing and told realtor to get keys from mail room and let ourselves in. The apartment was filthy, covered in dust, food crumbs in microwave, stained sink, broken door handles and scratched walls. I told my realtor I would take the unit if it was cleaned up and I could paint or lower price. Bill responded the apartment would be cleaned and painted. On August 28 I signed the lease and was told I could pick up the keys on the 29 and informed I would have to submit maintenance requests due to short turn around. I was unable to movein early nor clean the apartment with private vendors because my name was not officially on the unit. I deem this as miscommunication between PeakProperties and Ontario Place. On September 1 (Day my lease officially started) I had my own carpet cleaning crew because the carpet was not deep cleaned as promised. They were turned away because my name was still not on unit. I have sent numerous emails, phone calls and even tried visiting peakproperties but can’t get anyone to respond. I finally got a response saying the orders will be fulfilled diligently. I’m not sure what that means as we are almost a week into my lease and these should have been down prior to move in. If the unit was not ready why rush me into signing and make this entire experience unbelievably stressful. My name is still not listed on the unit and I am unable to retrieve mail from my mailbox because I’m not listed as a resident. Hopefully this gets resolved but I would avoid working with PeakProperties in the future. Great communication until payment is sent and then all issues are put on back burner including broken promises.
