Schools Century Plaza Apartments is served by Irving Elementary, North Middle School, and North High School in the Sioux City Community School District.  (Updated summer 2017) History Facing both 4th Street and Nebraska, Century Plaza Apartments is listed on the National Historic Register of Historic Places, the building is now home to 17 apartment homes. The original building dates back to when Thomas S. Martin began his career as retailer by forming a partnership with his brother and another Sioux City businessman. In 1880, the group opened the first T.S. Martin Store in downtown Sioux City. Over the years, T.S. Martin and Co., moved store locations, purchased and opened a new store and built new structures to conjoin with his existing facilities. By 1911, the T.S. Martin and Co. facility was more than 30,000 square feet of retail space in four conjoined buildings. Today, the unique composition of these buildings contributes to the historic value and charm of Century Plaza Apartments.
