Loving life at ZO!

I moved here in June and have loved every minute of it! Dog-friendly, great area. So happy when public spaces & amenities reopened! :)

Wonderful land of Oz.. I mean, ZO!

We LOVE our new apartment. Despite growing up in Alameda/Oakland, I've never experienced my hometown from a high-rise point of view. It's beautiful and I feel truly blessed waking up every morning seeing the Bay. I gave the parking four stars because I'm a minivan driver, and for those of us with bigger cars, it can feel like a tight squeeze when the garage is already filled up. The amenities are fantastic. Admittedly, the pool is my main interest here. Though the pool is small, it's a great temperature and it's still possible to use it as a mini lap pool. My husband's only gripe is that he wishes there was a hot tub (he's a snow monkey underneath it all.) The staff are very friendly and extremely accommodating. We're very grateful to them for answering all of our questions and helping us reserve the elevator for our extended move. Thank you! As for the noise, I'm impressed! It may be a factor that we're the only people on our floor as of right now; it's soo quiet! When the windows are shut, the outside world is silent. In our last apartment we could hear the constant running and thumping of children at play above us, which is cute but it's less cute at 3 in the morning. With concrete ceilings here at ZO, I doubt something like that would ever be an issue again! Overall, I'm filled with gratitude in occupying this space and look forward to how it will grow in time!

HVAC doesn’t work

ZO is great but the HVAC system is not equipped to deal with the building. By way of example, in the middle of November when the temperature is 61 outside, my apartment is still nearly 80 degrees-with all the windows open and a fan going. Not only is there no way to turn on the AC, hot air is blowing out of HVAC and there is no way to turn of off. It’s a nightmare, super uncomfortable conditions for working from home. If you move here, be sure not to get an apartment with south-facing windows.

Beautiful So Far

From our first day, the Zo staff have been extremely kind and helpful. The building is very clean and beautiful. With Covid, everyone is a little on edge but the Zo staff are doing a great job helping to manage all the concerns and personalities that come with living in a large community building. So far we are loving living at Zo
