Beautiful view, Horrible Staff

The Beachwood Canyon location for Eddy is very pleasing to look at and the area is nice and quiet. All Eddy residents are the best and most friendly. Most Eddy staff is rude and hard to work with.

Generally Positive Experience; Not Worth Value

I have lived at the Eddy Beachwood Canyon/Carmen Ave location for over three months. The location is very central, and usually very quiet. I enjoy the planned group activities, the ease of community, and that the units/facilities are pretty nice. That said, I have had more than my fair share of issues that--for the amount I pay in rent--should not be issues. When I first moved there was no hot water in the entire unit for two weeks and we had an ant problem. I had the keep on top of the maintenance manager for updates on the hot water until it was finally resolved, although my bathroom sink has never had hot water and still doesn't. The ant issue was resolved (whether on its own or by a maintenance intervention) shortly after. The dishwasher, as well as the water and ice dispensers on the fridge have not worked since before I moved in and still don't work, and our fridge is way too small for four people. Our AC went out for two weeks in the summer and it took two weeks for it to be resolved (again, with me having to repeatedly contact the managers for reminders and updates). The AC went out again during the heatwave, which I completely understand as many things went down, including our wifi, but we went without wifi for two weeks and AC for three. So we suffered through the entire heatwave plus weeks longer with no AC. We thankfully have a much more responsive, helpful maintenance manager now, but there are still things that don't work. We are also paying the same amount as other Eddy locations that have full amenities such as gyms, offices, and media rooms, whereas we have nothing but a few tables in our laundry room at the Carmen Ave. location. I have had a largely positive experience at Eddy while living at this location, mostly due to the community and general quality of the premises, but with the number of ongoing maintenance issues and lack of amenities I do feel like I am overpaying for a four-person shared apartment.
