The average rent for an apartment in Des Moines saw an increase, while in West Des Moines ($1,005) and Ankeny ($1,090), rent went up by 0.6% in both cities.

Despite a 2.3% increase, Urbandale rentals are the most budget-friendly option in the Des Moines area, with an average price of $860. At $950 a month, following a 0.1% decrease, renting in Altoona is the third best option, following Des Moines, which comes in second.
