In addition to excellent restaurants and bars, there’s also a historic bowling alley and retro arcade dating back to the town’s 1930s heyday. The city also hosts art and film festivals throughout the summer months. Asbury Park is approximately 90 minutes from both New York City and Philadelphia by car, and many renters commute into one of these two major cities. Since the 1960s, Asbury Park has been known for its music scene. In fact, notable artists like Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi got their start at local venues like the Stone Pony and the Paramount Theater. Additionally, Asbury Park is a popular town for LGBTQ+ renters: The town hosts one of New Jersey’s largest Pride parades each year.

It’s also common for older homes in Asbury Park to be split into multiple condos or rental units. Notably, many historic rental properties here date back to the town’s days as a seaside resort and feature ornate Victorian architecture. However, Asbury Park has been revitalized during the last 20 years, so there are many modern apartment complexes, as well. Granted, due to the town’s revitalization, rental prices have increased in recent years. The town is also working to limit short-term vacation rentals to keep apartment prices reasonable.
