Happy birthday to us!!!!
Holy freakin’ cow! It’s our birthday!
A year has gone by since we first burst on the blogosphere. Bewildered and wide eyed, we stepped into the world like a new-born giraffe, wobbly, unsure, and wild. But it wasn’t long before we hit our stride. We had some great friends join our group of café bandits, and we’ve been there to report to coolest happenings in your area, the hottest trends in renting, and the best way to stay in the black on a renter’s budget.
I’m feeling an overwhelming pang of nostalgia and maybe you’re wondering what you’ve been missing here on the RENTCafe Blog. So let’s do a little review of our most popular posts of the last year, shall we?
Boy, do you guys love hipsters! Flannel 411: America’s top hipster cities was our most popular post of the year. Still trying to determine if readers are getting in the know to avoid such cities or if they want to go to there…
Next up is one of our first articles ever! A huge challenge that all renters with roommies face is how to split up bills, we explored the technologies that make rent and bill splitting super simple in Going Dutch.
With a hyped up renters market, some cities are seeing record-setting rents and uber low vancacy rates. It’s no wonder that our look at two San Fran renters’ stories hit close to home for so many renters in Stories of survival: The San Francisco Rental Market Edition. On the opposite side of the spectrum, things are a bit more cheery for renters in Chicago. The summer report, Now’s the perfect time to rent in Chicago, proves that even if the city center faces stiff pricing, affordable apartments are still available.
I only recently saw The Hunger Games, and it was on an airplane. Despite the venue, I found the film rather gripping and get the hype. But in Wedding Games?! Hunger Games?! I don’t even know anymore!, the fandom is taken to an unhealthy level; Espresso gave us all the gory details.
Speaking of gory, GAME OF THRONES!! Our GoT-obsessed writing staff found great fodder relating our favorite George R.R. Martin characters to some of our worse roommates in Roommate lessons from Game of Thrones. Take note, and don’t be a Cersei.
It has been a great year and we hope to have more awesome articles for you this year. Have a topic idea or question?? Fire away in the comment section! Happy renting!
