3 mobile apps for apartment hunters

There truly is an app for anything these days. Planning to relocate? Now there’s an app for that too.  Make your apartment search as simple as possible with these three apps.

1. Apartment Search by RENTCafe: The weekend and after work hunt just got easier. Optimized for iPhone and iPod Touch, the RENTCafé app is integrated with Google maps and has a built in GPS feature that returns instant listings of nearby apartments. In addition it allows you to check out further details about the apartments you are considering, including photos, rental rates, floor plans, amenities, and currently available units.

2. Yelp Moblie App: You may turn to Yelp to find a review for a restaurant, but you can also utilize the site and app to see reviews of apartment communities you are interested in. Available for both iPhone and Android, the Yelp mobile app can save you a trip to a certain neighborhood or let you in on a few secrets about living there.  As with any apartment review site, give the apartment a hefty handicap – it’s usually only the pissed off people who write reviews.

3. Life 360: If safety is on your mind when selecting a neighborhood, you can use the Life360 app to identify nearby hospitals, police and fire stations or view potential threats existing in the area, including registered sex offenders.
