Get your apartment doing the Tangerine Tango
The signature color for the year, as chosen by paint company Pantone, is (drum roll please) tangerine tango.
This warm and happy shade of orange is perfect as a home décor and fashion accent, a great inspiration when picking this year’s spring flowers for the patio, and will probably make you want to eat orange sherbet or Creamsicles. Maybe when the weather gets a little warmer.
It’s been hard to think about tangerine tango as a décor color scheme during the holidays, as it just doesn’t go with holiday reds and greens at all. But now that the holidays are past us, it’s much easier to envision style moving into spring.
Tangerine tango is a very spirited shade of orange, perfect for some of the following home accents:
Pillows. If you have a dark or neutral shade couch color, tangerine tango pillows will likely be very compatible.
Outdoor décor. Tangerine tango is a great shade for patio and lounge furniture cushions, which usually need to be updated at least every 1-2 years.
Kitchenware. Here’s hoping that KitchenAid releases one of their signature mixers in this color, as it would make a very fun and funky accent for any kitchen.
Fashion accent. You probably don’t want to do a whole outfit in tangerine tango, unless you’re Ms. Florida Orange Juice 2012, but it’s a fun color for a handbag, belt, scarf, tie for men, or even perhaps a bikini. Tango, here we come!
