Decorate your apartment like the Olympic Village
Simple, Spartan, colorful and fun – that’s the best way to describe the apartment décor inside the Athletes Village at the 2012 Olympic Games, happening now in London, England.
Good news for some lucky British residents. After the Games, the Athletes Village is going to be turned into a residential community, so renters will have the chance to live there.
The décor of the village apartments is minimalist, with simple beds, linens, artwork, couches and other furnishings. Athletes are paired with roommates to minimize space and expenses, so it’s a lot like college dorm living.
The print prints on the apartment walls are competition inspired and reminded me of something that might have been designed by United Colors of Benneton. The sofas and beds look like they might have come from IKEA due to their simple lines, light-wood materials and Scandinavian-style design.
The Athletes Village also features places for the competitors to socialize and hang out. They have billiards tables, comfy leather sofas and pub-style bar signs.
