Okay party people, saddle up and be ready to move out. We have new assignments for you on Wednesday and Friday nights. Introducing rock paper scissors and beer Olympics tourneys, coming to a bar near you!
In case you are not familiar with beer Olympics, here is basically what it looks like:
Hopefully there will be less snotty Germans at the Impala events, although Team Australia is currently undefeated and I bet they are pretty smug about it. The organizers make it easy to get involved. It’s free to play and you get 5 beers for $10 with your RSVP. Practice your techniques in flip cup, beer pong, and beer relays. Did I say flip cup? Obligatory clip:
The rock paper scissors event utilizes the standard rules handed down by the World RPS Society; I’ve only glanced at them, but they appear to be suitably ridiculous. The sport is summed up best by famed enthusiast Wojek Smallsoa: “To the beginner the choices are few, to the expert the choices are many.” Hahaha, okay Woj! Festivities start at Monroe and move around from bar to bar. A soul/old school/funk dance party competition closes out the night… I don’t even know what any of those dances are so I would probably just blow some minds with my freestyle pop ‘n’ lock routine.
Both events feature lots of prizes, including a $100 beer tab for rock paper scissors winners. You need to be 21+ to enter, or have a really good fake ID. Check out the event website for mostly complete details.
