Comics, Campaign actors in character come out to play
That would be Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis, in town and in character (as Senator Cam Brady and challenger Marty Huggins, respectively) to promote their upcoming film of cinema movie The Campaign. They appeared at the NCC on Tuesday night.
Here’s a look at some of the wacky hijinks from the film:
As much as I like Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis, I’m getting a “all the funny parts are in the trailer and the rest of the movie sucks” kinda vibe from this one. Ferrell looks like he’s doing a variation of his George Bush impression, and the G-Man is just trotting out his Seth Galifianakis character in a long-form story. I’ll probably be there opening weekend, but I’m not expecting to fall wildly in love with this one.
Allentown is ground zero for heroes
In case you missed out on Wizard World you have a chance to get a hit of your comics fix at The Great Allentown Comic Con, held the weekend of August 4-5 in… Allentown! This is a cut below the big boys of the science fantasy convention circuit, but it does feature two guests that I’m eager to see: Jeremy Bulloch aka Boba Fett from the Star Wars films, and Cindy Morgan from TRON and Caddyshack, among other things.
Go there, talk geek with other attendees, sample the panels, and of course gorge on the sweet, sweet merch in the main hall. Face front, true believers!
