A sweepstakes for the shoes obsessed
Hi, my name is Kombucha, and I own too many pairs of shoes.
I don’t even really know when my shoe collecting “situation” (a word I much prefer to “problem”) started, but it has not been a lifelong issue for me. Only in the last two or three years have I felt the need to urgently accumulate all of the cute shoes I can possibly get my hands on. I’m a frugal shoe collector – I only focus my efforts on affordable shoes, usually less than $50 a pair, and flat, comfortable shoes that I will actually wear often.
Currently my shoes take up the entire bottom floor of a large coat closet in my home. I haven’t counted them recently, but I know there are at least 40 pairs of shoes in there. That isn’t bad, in comparison to the size of some women’s shoe collections. But it’s not great, either.
So, I was pretty excited to hear about this Shoedazzle and Container Store promotion that could only work out well for people like me (and you, if you’re a shoe fiend too). Help Shoedazzle reach 2 million fans on Facebook, and you could get not only $1000 in new pairs of shoes from Shoedazzle but a closet valued at $2000 from the Container Store where you could keep them in. Sounds great, right?
In the meantime, if you’re looking for solutions to control the shoes that seem to multiply like rabbits in your tiny Philadelphia apartment closet, check out some of our tips for closet organization and decluttering. I try to go through my shoes every couple of months and jettison a few pairs to charity donation, but it sure is hard to let them go!
