Things you must do in LA this summer
Welcome to summer in Los Angeles! There’s no better season to enjoy all the great things to do in the City of Angels. Yes, the freeways are sure to be packed with tourists, vacationers, commuters and all those recent college grads who can’t find jobs, but traffic is just part of life in LA, so suck it up and have fun anyway!
There are so many things you could spend you free time doing in LA this summer, that we narrowed it down to a must list so you can hit the highlights. Here are some of our favorites:
Go to a concert. Whether it’s at an intimate club on the Sunset Strip or your first time at the Hollywood Bowl, enjoying great music should be part of every summer in Los Angeles. Some of the popular artists coming our way this summer include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Meat Loaf, Josh Groban, the B-52s, Flo Rida, Cee Lo Green, B.o.B., The String Cheese Incident, Saint Motel, Demi Lovato, and many others. Find your favorite type of music, get your buddies on board and make some plans!
Visit a farmer’s market. Just about every city in the LA vicinity has its very own Farmer’s Market at least one day a week and this is the best season of the year to take advantage of produce grown on nearby agricultural land. If you’d like to eat healthier, shopping at the Farmer’s Market is one of the easiest ways to start! Find a full list of local certified markets right here.
Take a hike. Travel to Topanga, Malibu, or one of the coastal state parks, like Point Mugu or Malibu Creek, to find hiking trails with steep inclines (great for toning your butt muscles) and ocean breezes (this item can be combined with item No. 3 below). If you don’t want to venture west from your inland abode, other options include Griffith Park (close to Hollywood and Los Feliz), which has miles of hiking and running trails. (You can actually get lost here, so make sure you know where you’re going before you set out.)
Stay tuned for Part II of our LA Summer Must list … coming soon.
