Dog Day Afternoon planned for Downtown LA

black and white dogsWe all know that Downtown residents love their dogs – its dog friendliness is something the neighborhood is known for.  So it’s fitting that a special event just to celebrate pets – and hopefully get a few adopted to new homes – is being held on July 11. It’s the sixth annual Dog Day Afternoon.

If you’ve been considering moving to an apartment downtown – one of the trendiest areas for LA living right now – this is a great chance to check out the neighborhood and see if it would be a friendly one for you and your pet.

The canine-focused festivities get going at the Cathedral of our Lady of the Angels at 6 p.m. and go to 9 p.m. The event is organized by the Downtown Center Business Improvement District. Planned activities include:

  • Music
  • Chance to meet other local dog owners
  • Dodger Dogs and drinks for people
  • Vendors including Bark Avenue, Bark & Clark, Better Buddies, Downtown Doggie U Wash, DTLA Vets, Furtographs, Gina Alexander, Go Dog LA, PAWS/LA, Pet Project, Pussy & Pooch, Rock the Dog, South Park Doggie Day Care, Toni’s Pet Concierge and Walk Fido.
  • Adoptions. Why not take home another canine companion?

The event is free and promises to be a great time for all in attendance. It could be a great place to find the perfect pet sitter or boarding service for your buddy while you are off on your next vacation or business trip. R.S.V.P. here! See you there!
