Bent Tree and Preston Trail are both particularly picturesque areas, with lush landscaping, plenty of mature trees, and exquisite features such as the creek that runs through the westernmost part of Bent Tree and portions of Preston Trail. On the whole, these neighborhoods tend to be a bit “off the radar” when compared to other more prominent areas of Far North Dallas, lending them a quieter air and an exceptionally strong community focus for the residents to enjoy.

Development of both areas began in the 1960s and remained steady throughout the decades, but in recent years the area has undergone a renaissance.

Historically, demographics in the area have trended a little bit older than in the city center, appealing primarily to empty nesters looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. As of late, however there has been a shift with younger families moving into the area to take advantage of the quiet lifestyle, comfortable residential feel, and access to quality schools. There is much to recommend the Bent Tree and Preston Trail areas for those seeking a somewhat higher quality of life, a prime area to commute from, and a more laidback lifestyle in a North Dallas location.

Local Attractions and Culture

The area’s center of entertainment, and perhaps the most notable local attraction, is the Bent Tree Country Club. In addition to swimming and tennis facilities, members enjoy access to a beautiful 18-hole, par-71 golf course, where both LPGA and the Champions Tour have held tournaments.
